The Baltic Contest

The Lithuanian radio sports federation runs this wee contest once a year on the third weekend of May every year.
It is an 80 meter contest in which Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania battle it out between themselves to see who comes top.
So last night as usual I did a 2 hour entry from 10pm local to midnight, I normally run QRP but in this contest running 100watts to my newly increased in height inverted V dipole I snagged around 50 using search and pounce so conditions seemed good into the Baltic area.
Every year I enter this contest I receive the results by post which is a breath of fresh air in this email dominated world.
So I would encourage you to keep a date in your diary and support this if you can. If you dont have a license then tune in as a short wave listener and put in a reception only report..you never know you may just win a certificate and you will get the results by post !
